Fifa 17 demo ps4
There's no further graphical options in-game and if you want to make any further tweaks you need to quit out entirely every time and adjust them before heading back in again. In-game you can change up the commentary options, but in terms of system settings you're just looking at voice chat and stereo / surround sound settings. FIFA 17 AudioĪudio options if FIFA 17 are pretty basic. Disconnect and reconnect the controller a few times until it works. Using the DualShock 4 is a bit more of a nuisance as sometimes FIFA 17 picks up both mouse and keyboard + gamepad as a single input, so that's worth bearing in mind. Xbox 360 and Xbox One controller support is included right from the get go, and the controls remain exactly the same. The only safe recourse is to keep a fair distance away from your opponents. Movement is based on mouse direction and it's nowhere near quick enough or responsive enough to handle tight dribbling skills and quick changes of pace. I'd venture that FIFA 17 is barely worth playing unless you have a gamepad.
I tried a couple of matches using mouse and keyboard as I do every year, and dear god is it awful. This happens multiple times for me in a single half, but of course isn't an issue if you opt for a gamepad. If you move the cursor onto the screen and click, it minimises FIFA 17. There's no option to lock the mouse cursor to within the bounds of the monitor you are playing FIFA 17. Last year it was annoying, this year it should've been fixed. I should highlight again that FIFA 17 is once more a bit of a nightmare with multi-monitor setups. The obvious way to avoid this is to lock the whole game to 30 FPS, but your sacrificing playability somewhat. It drops to 30 FPS for all cut-scenes, menus and replays, which can be really quite jarring. One last thing about the frame rate as well. Should you be struggling with the frame rate though, this should also we the first to go. For the best image quality you are going to want to dial MSAA all the way up.
MSAA is one of the more demanding forms of anti-aliasing but as with most FIFA games, FIFA 17 isn't hugely demanding. If you don't you will experience significant screen tearing. The MSAA options are pretty straightforward, with Off, 2x and 4x. So if you've got a standard non-Gsync or FreeSync monitor and you want to unlock the frame rate you will have to force Vsync through the GeForce control panel of Radeon Crimson software. Be warned there is no V-Sync option whatsoever. FIFA 17 Low V UltraĪs per usual with FIFA 17 we've got the choice of a 30 frames per second, 60 FPS, or unlimited.

It was pulling in an average of 267 frames per second on 1080p / Ultra / 4x MSAA, so FIFA 17 should be quite easy to run at 4K. We'll have a further article dedicated to FIFA 17's performance, particularly with a low-end graphics cards, but for these screenshots I used an MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G. FIFA 17's graphics settings are no doubt kept deliberately simple for pick up and play ease, restricting the player to resolution options, FPS locks, four graphics presets and the (in theory) GPU intensive MSAA options. FIFA 17 Display Configurationĭespite the switch to a new engine, the options available to the player remain functionally identical.

Fifa 17 demo ps4 series#
For the first time ever the series is now using DICE's Frostbite engine, the same engine powering the graphical warhorse that is Battlefield 1. This time around it looks as if PES 2017 has really upped its game on consoles, so EA Sports is no doubt feeling the pressure to perform with FIFA 17.
